Configuring NewsXpress

Configuration

1. Launch NewsXpress
   
   
2. Click File and select Options...

   

3. From the Options window under the Servers and Directory tab:
   
   
   • In the News (NNTP) Server: field enter news.accesscom.com
     
     
   • In the Mail (SMTP) Server: field enter smtp.accesscom.com
     
     
   • Leave the rest of the fields as they were by default.
     
     

   

4. From the Options window select the Personal Information tab.
   
   
   • In the Full name: field enter your name as you would like it to appear on all outgoing messages.
     
     
   • In the E-mail address: field enter your return email address as you would like it to appear on all outgoing messages.
     
     
   • You can leave the Organization: field blank if you wish.
     
     

   

   Click OK
   
   
5. NOTE: At this point, you should connect to the internet if you are not already connected.
   
   Click the File menu and select Connect

   

   At this point, your NewsXpress software is downloading a huge list of all the news groups available to you. This process will take a long time. You can watch the status bar at the bottom which would indicate how many news groups it has downloaded.
   
   This is only a one time thing.
   
   Once your download is done, you'll be ready to use your NewsXpress software!
