Setting Up a PPP Connection on a Windows NT 3.51
If you are already familiar with the details of setting up a PPP connection on a Windows NT 3.51 and just want the necessary server information, go to the Basic Account Configuration.
Step (1)
- The first step is installing Remote Access Services if they are not already installed. This is done from the Network Icon in the Control Panel. Click the Add Software button and select Remote Access Service from the list, click OK. You will then see the Remote Access Configuration screen. Select the COM port, modem, and Dial Out Only options as appropriate for your system.
After Remote Access is installed and the system rebooted, you will have a new program group called Remote Access. Open this group and run Remote Access. You should now be here:

- Click on the Add button and input the following parameters. Enter the Access Numbers (POPs) you will be using to connect to Access Internet.

Step (3)
- Click on Modem button and input the appropriate setting for your modem. The Modem line will reflect what you configured earlier. Select the maximum speed your equipment can handle.

- Choose OK then click the Network button and select the following settings:

- Select the TCP/IP Settings... button and input the following settings:

- Select the Security button and enter the following settings:

- That's it! Now at the main Remote Access screen select Access Internet and click the Dial button. You will see a login screen asking for your username, password, and domain. Enter your username and password for AIC and leave Domain blank.

After connected use the Status button to check the connection and do a PING of accesscom.com. If everything seems connected but you still cannot PING anything the most likely cause is a problem with the DNS setting. Recheck your work and try again.
