Open Transport PPP Setup

This page will give you the essentials in settings up PPP/TCP/IP for the mac using OT/PPP. At this point you should have a valid username and password.

Configuration

  1. From the Control Panels run PPP

    • Select Registered User

    • In Name: field enter your user name followed by "@accesscom.com".

    • In Password: field enter your password.
      NOTE: Your password is case sensative. For example 'MYPWORD' is not 'mypword'.

    • In Number: field enter the nearest local POP (Point-Of-Presence) number.
      NOTE: Refer to our Points Of Presence (POPs) page to find a local POP.

  2. Select File/Configurations

    • Select either default or one you created.
    • Click Make Active

    • Click done

  3. Select Edit/User Mode

    • Select Basic

    • Click OK

  4. Select PPP/TCP/IP

    • Set Connect via: to PPP
    • Set Configure: to Using PPP Server
    • Erase everything in Name server addr:
      Enter: 64.240.196.2 hit the return key
      Enter: 64.240.196.3
    • Erase everything in Search domains:
      Enter: accesscom.com

    • Close the TCP/IP window and Save changes.

  5. Select PPP/Modem

    • Verify the Connect via: field corresponds to your modem.
    • Enusre your modem is selected.
    • Set Sound: to On
    • Set Dialing: to Tone
    • Uncheck Ignore dial tone

    • Close the Modem window

Usage

  1. From the Control Panels run PPP

  2. Click Connect
