Apple has released a new iMac modem script meant to help those iMac users still reporting connectivity problems. Citing noisy phone lines as the probable cause of any connectivity problems, Apple says that the v.34 script will force the internal iMac modem to communicate at slower speeds. This in turn will make the modem more compatible with ISPs who have not upgraded to the v.90 standard. Critics have said that Apple should have already thought about this and made the iMac's modem v.34 compatible out of the box.
