Access Internet will soon be changing the phone numbers you currently dial into. We will post a search engine within our site at <http://www.accesscom.com/> that will tell you what dial-in phone numbers are in your local calling area. We will be going from 4 points of presence (POPs) to 11 POPs. This will slightly enlarge the current calling areas that we serve and also should result in better connections for you.
We plan in the near future to expand our POPs to cover the entire Bay area from Santa Rosa to Livermore.
The Dial-In Numbers for the POPs will be:
Service Area | Dial-in Number | Maximum Connection Rate Supported |
---|---|---|
San Jose 1 (North) | 408-514-0027 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
San Jose 2 (West) | 408-380-0006 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
San Jose 3 (South) | 408-513-0009 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Sunnyvale | 408-585-0012 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Fremont/Newark 1 | 510-401-0005 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Fremont/Newark 2 | 510-402-0007 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Fremont/Newark 3 | 510-403-0004 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Los Altos | 650-471-0004 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
Redwood City | 650-503-0004 | 3Com x2/V.90 56k |
The old dial-in numbers for the POPs in Milpitas, Fremont, and Los Altos will no longer be available 30 days after we switch over so be sure to start using these new numbers as soon as we switch.
We are planning the switch for 4:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 1998, with the estimated completion in 2-4 hours. You will not be able to dial-in to Access Internet until the upgrade is completed.
